Workers’ Day: First Lady calls for fairness, dignity in labour

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has saluted Nigerian workers for their unwavering commitment to nation-building, marking the 2025 Workers’ Day with a message of gratitude and hope.

In a statement issued on Thursday, May 1, the First Lady praised workers across all sectors—public, private, formal, and informal—for their resilience, calling them the backbone of Nigeria’s progress.

“On this special Workers’ Day, I extend my heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to all Nigerian workers for your commitment to nation-building,” she said. “May your efforts continue to yield fruit, and may we, as a nation, always uphold the value of your labour.”

Emphasizing the theme of dignity in labour, Mrs. Tinubu advocated for fairness and equal opportunities in the workplace, reaffirming her respect for the millions contributing daily to Nigeria’s economic and social development.

“I wish you all a happy Workers’ Day celebration and pray that our beloved nation continues to prosper and grow in leaps and bounds,” she concluded.
