Yayi to mark third year in office with 53 new projects
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations and Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Olamilekan Adeola, has announced the commissioning of 53 infrastructure projects to mark his third year in office.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook and Instagram pages, the APC consensus governorship candidate for Ogun State said the projects span critical sectors including road infrastructure, education, healthcare, security and commerce, reflecting his commitment to delivering democratic dividends to constituents across the three senatorial districts of the state.
According to him, the projects include the construction and rehabilitation of roads, blocks of classrooms, modern markets equipped with solar-powered lighting systems, primary healthcare centres, police stations, town halls and other public facilities designed to improve living conditions and stimulate economic growth.
The senator disclosed that Ogun West accounts for the largest share of the projects, with several roads, markets, health centres, police stations and educational facilities completed in Imeko-Afon, Yewa North, Yewa South, Ipokia and Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Areas.
Among the projects listed for Ogun West are the construction and asphalting of major roads in Imeko-Afon, Ilaro, Owode, Oke-Odan, Agbara and Idiroko, as well as the construction of modern markets, primary healthcare centres, police stations and multiple 12-classroom blocks in secondary schools across the district.
In Ogun Central, completed projects include the construction of an ultramodern town hall in Ishaga, Abeokuta North; a primary healthcare centre in Ibara-Orile; and the rehabilitation and asphalting of roads in Abeokuta and Obafemi-Owode Local Government Areas.
The senator also highlighted ongoing development in Ogun East, where newly completed road projects in Ijebu-Igbo and Ijebu-Ode are among the facilities scheduled for commissioning in the coming days. He noted that the projects were strategically distributed to address key infrastructural needs and improve access to essential services.
He stated that commissioning of the projects by stakeholders and beneficiaries would commence shortly, expressing satisfaction with the progress achieved within three years in office. The lawmaker assured residents that effective representation would continue until the end of his tenure on May 29, 2027, pledging to facilitate more development initiatives across Ogun State.
