FG, stakeholders partner to validate new policy for Nigeria’s industrial growth

By Kunle Sanni –
The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and key stakeholders from the organised private sector, has held a technical session in Abuja to validate the draft National Industrial Policy (NIP).
The session brought together representatives of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), GIZ, African Development Bank (AfDB), and other partners.
Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, John Owan Enoh, who disclosed the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, said the initiative underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to accelerating industrialisation and positioning Nigeria as a hub for manufacturing in Africa.
He explained that the policy aims to transform Nigeria’s vast raw materials into high-value finished products while strengthening the nation’s global competitiveness.
“Policies alone, no matter how well-crafted, cannot transform a nation. It is disciplined and effective execution that drives real change,” Enoh wrote.
He added that with the validation, finalisation, and launch of the NIP, the Federal Government is laying the groundwork for President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and a truly industrialised Nigeria.
