Nigeria will win war against terrorism, Tinubu assures Nigerians

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians and members of the military that the country will overcome its security challenges, stressing that the sacrifices of the Armed Forces will not be in vain.
The president gave the assurance on Friday during an interfaith breaking of fast with members of the Armed Forces at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Tinubu commended officers and soldiers for their courage and professionalism in defending the nation despite the dangers they face from terrorists and bandits.
“I thank all of you on behalf of a grateful nation. Many times you are away from your families and facing attacks by bandits and terrorists. I commend your courage, sacrifice and professionalism as you put your lives on the line in defence of Nigeria’s sovereignty and the safety of its citizens,” he said.
The president noted that the efforts of security forces had continued to weaken terrorist groups and criminal gangs operating in different parts of the country.
Tinubu further thanked Nigerians for their patience amid ongoing economic reforms, saying the country was beginning to emerge from its challenges.
“I am happy to inform you that your sacrifices and that of fellow citizens are not in vain. We are now out of the dark tunnel,” he said.
Earlier, the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Gwabin Musa, represented by the Chief of Army Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, commended the president for approving measures to improve the welfare and operational capacity of the Armed Forces.
