Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated Nigerians, especially Muslims in Lagos, on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
The governor gave the message in a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
In his message, Sanwo-Olu thanked Muslims for their dedication to fasting, prayers and other spiritual activities during the holy month, noting that Ramadan represents a period of spiritual renewal and discipline.
He urged Muslims to continue practising the good virtues learned during Ramadan, including helping the poor, showing kindness and remaining devoted to God.
According to the governor, Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam and teaches self-control, patience and total submission to the will of Allah.
He also called on Muslims in the state to continue living in peace and harmony with people of other religions, as has been the tradition in Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu further urged Nigerians to pray for peace and stability across the country, stressing the importance of unity among citizens.
