The media team of the APC lawmaker representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Festus Akingbaso, has denied allegations linking him to the removal of a campaign poster bearing the image of President Bola Tinubu in Idanre, Ondo State.

The team, in a statement signed by Kelvin Babalola on behalf of the Fessy West Media Team, described reports alleging that Akingbaso tore down the poster as fabricated and dismissed claims that Idanre was witnessing tension over the incident.

According to the statement, the town remained peaceful, while the allegation of a brewing crisis was described as an attempt to create disaffection among political supporters.

The media team also criticised the SDP House of Representatives candidate for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Tajudeen Adefisoye, over his recent political activities, alleging that he had previously contested under the APC but was not cleared to participate in the party’s primary.

It further claimed that Adefisoye had approached the court over the APC primary but later withdrew the case after allegedly realising the weakness of his legal challenge.

The statement alleged that Adefisoye’s latest action was aimed at creating political tension by displaying President Tinubu’s photograph on an SDP campaign poster, despite the party having its own presidential candidate.

The Akingbaso camp also claimed that the poster was removed by Adefisoye’s agents after the SDP allegedly cautioned him over what it described as his political position.

It urged APC members and supporters to remain calm and continue with their activities, insisting that Akingbaso had no involvement in the poster controversy and that attempts to create crisis in Idanre would fail.
