Okwuluora to personally fund treatment of woman with severe abdominal condition

By Anthonia Okonkwo

Emmanuel Okwuluora Okoh, popularly known as Okwuluora, has pledged to personally pay for the medical treatment of a woman who has reportedly lived with a severe abdominal condition for several years.

Okwuluora announced the decision in a Facebook post on Saturday, saying he would use his personal funds to cover her treatment instead of soliciting public donations.

The woman reportedly lives in Owerri, Imo State, but travels to Onitsha, Anambra State, to beg for money, according to information surrounding her case.

Okwuluora said his earlier efforts to secure medical assistance for her had encountered difficulties. He also expressed concern that some people around the woman were more interested in raising donations in her name than ensuring she received treatment.

However, he disclosed that the woman had now accepted his offer of assistance after previously refusing an attempt to take her for medical care.

He said he planned to send photographs of her condition to doctors at Parklane Hospital and the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), both in Enugu, for assessment.

According to Okwuluora, if the doctors approve the proposed treatment, he will arrange for the woman and her family to visit the hospital and complete the necessary documentation before treatment begins.

Although he described his financial resources as limited, Okwuluora said he remained committed to helping the woman access medical care, with the treatment plan subject to the doctors’ assessment.
