2027: Hamzat unveils ‘The Lagos Promise’, lists 100 pledges in seven pillars

… pledges inclusive government, improved healthcare, road infrastructure, others
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 election, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has pledged to run an inclusive government that will provide equal opportunities for all residents, irrespective of their ethnic, status or religious backgrounds, if elected.
Hamzat made the pledge on Friday during the official unveiling of his manifesto, tagged “The Lagos Promise,” where he promised to place children and vulnerable groups at the centre of his administration.
He also pledged to strengthen the state’s healthcare sector, stressing that protecting children and ensuring their well-being would remain a priority.
Hamzat said the future of Lagos depended on protecting and developing its younger generation, adding: “Therefore, our children must be protected. That is why children sit at the heart of my plan.”
He explained that the manifesto was designed as a social contract between his administration and Lagos residents, with its commitments structured around seven pillars and 100 pledges.
According to him, the document was deliberately made detailed to enable residents to assess the commitments and hold his administration accountable.
Earlier, the Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, described the manifesto as a covenant between the party, its candidate and the electorate.
Ojelabi expressed confidence in Hamzat’s capacity to lead Lagos into its next phase of development, citing his private-sector experience, public-service record and tenure as Deputy Governor.
He said the APC administration had laid a solid foundation in infrastructure, transportation, education, healthcare, housing, technology and economic development, adding that the next administration would consolidate on these achievements.
