The campaign spokesman for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for withdrawing its petition challenging Adeleke’s re-election.

Olajengbesi, in a statement shared on his Facebook page, described the decision by the opposition leaders as a demonstration of statesmanship, saying it reflected their commitment to the collective interest, peace and progress of Osun State.

“We must pay homage to the spirit of statesmanship demonstrated by the opposition leaders in Osun State in withdrawing their petition challenging the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“Not because they did not have the right to challenge the election, but because their decision reflects a commitment to the collective interest, peace and progress of our state.

“It shows that in Osun, politics does not always have to be driven by desperation for power. There is still room for integrity, maturity and the greater good of our people,” he said.

Olajengbesi subsequently commended former Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru; and the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, for the development.
