APC unveils new campaign council ahead of Ondo South by-election

The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has inaugurated a 128-member Campaign Council ahead of the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election slated for June 20, 2026.

The development was disclosed by the party in a statement issued by its State Publicity Secretary, Kayode Muyide, saying the council was constituted to coordinate campaign activities and mobilise support across the district.

According to the statement, Pastor Femi Agagu was appointed Chairman of the council, while High Chief Biboppre Ajube and Prince Olu Falolu will serve as co-chairmen. Additionally, Barrister Allen Sowore was named Secretary.

The APC expressed confidence in the ability of the council to deliver victory for the party in the forthcoming election through effective grassroots mobilisation and stakeholder engagement.

“The council has been carefully constituted to drive the party’s campaign efforts and ensure a successful outing in the Ondo South Senatorial by-election,” the statement read.

It added that additional sub-committees would be announced to handle specialised aspects of the campaign as preparations intensify ahead of the poll.

Among members of the council are Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande; former senators Boluwaji Kunlere and Yele Omogunwa; former House of Representatives member Sunday Abegunde; and APC State Chairman, Ade Adetimehin.

Others include former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Jumoke Akindele; former lawmakers Donald Ojogo, Jimi Odimayo, Festus Adefiranye and Victor Olabimtan, alongside several party leaders, former political office holders and stakeholders drawn from across the senatorial district.
