BREAKING: Faleke backs Hamzat for Lagos governorship in 2027

James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives from Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos State, has endorsed Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as his preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
In a message shared via his X account on Friday, Faleke called on supporters across his constituency in Ikeja and Lagos State to rally behind Hamzat ahead of the party primaries scheduled for next month.
“Good evening all. As we prepare for party primaries next month, I urge all our supporters in Ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos State to support Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State from 2027–2035,” he wrote.
He further expressed optimism about Hamzat’s leadership, adding, “IJN. Amen!”
Hamzat, who currently serves as deputy governor of Lagos State, is widely regarded as a key figure in the state’s political landscape ahead of the state governorship elections in 2027.
Party primaries for the 2027 general elections, including those of the All Progressives Congress (APC), are expected to hold within the timeline set by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which runs from April 23 to May 30, 2026, although specific dates for each party and state will be determined internally.
