The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers involved in the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons.

The demolition was carried out on Monday at Lako Community along Aiyegun-Anaye Road in Ibadan.

Officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation conducted the exercise in collaboration with operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

Authorities said the action forms part of ongoing efforts by the state government to curb kidnapping and other criminal activities.

The victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted at Elewura in the Challenge area of Ibadan on June 3, 2026.

According to security authorities, investigations led to the discovery of the building, which was allegedly used by the kidnappers during the planning and execution of the abduction.

The government said the demolition sends a strong message that structures used for criminal purposes will not be tolerated, stressing its commitment to dismantling criminal networks operating within the state.

Authorities added that investigations are continuing, while security agencies intensify efforts to apprehend other suspects linked to the kidnapping syndicate.
