Cardi B reacts to rumoured relationship with Nigerian footballer Maduka Okoye

American rapper Cardi B has reacted to viral speculation about her alleged relationship with Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, saying she has long dealt with lies and rumours about the men she dates.
The rumours began after Okoye, 26, and the 33-year-old rapper were seen together at Paris Fashion Week in France, where the goalkeeper helped her to her seat. They were later spotted having dinner with friends at Gio’s restaurant inside The St. Regis hotel in Venice, Italy, and reportedly watched a fireworks display together.
The speculation also followed claims by Okoye’s ex-partner, Jelicia Westhoff, with whom he shares a son, accusing the footballer of being an absentee father. Reacting to the situation, Cardi B said such drama is inevitable when dating a man with an ex-partner.
“Could I have picked better men? Probably. Maybe so. But even if I did, as long as a man has an ex-girlfriend, this is bound to happen,” she said.
The rapper added that she has dealt with “lies and bullshit” about the people she has dated since she was 20, recalling experiences with former partners whose exes allegedly harassed her.
“…And the list goes on. Unless a man was born the day before yesterday and has never dated anyone, this is always something that’s going to come with it. I don’t know what it is about these b**ches—I really ruffle their feathers,” she said.
In a video shared on her Instagram Story on Monday, Cardi B said her personal life receives far more attention than that of other celebrities, adding that every move she makes comes under public scrutiny.
Cardi B’s comments come months after she split from Stefon Diggs. The couple dated for a year before ending their relationship.
