Charge Senator Ningi for criminal misinformation, Jimoh Ibrahim tells FG
A member of the Appropriation Committee in the Senate, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, has called on the Federal Government to bring criminal charges against Senator Abdul Ningi for what he claims to be “criminal misinformation and conduct likely to breach the peace” regarding the 2024 Appropriation Acts.
Speaking to Senate correspondents on Monday, Senator Ibrahim vehemently refuted the assertions made by his colleague, Senator Ningi, who alleged the existence of two versions of the 2024 Appropriation Act. Ibrahim, who represents Ondo South Senatorial District, emphasized that the claim is not true and has the potential to cause confusion and unrest.
“As a matter of urgency, charge Senator Ningi for criminal misinformation and conduct likely to breach the peace in the country,” Ibrahim urged both the Senate and the Federal Government during the interview.
Expressing his dissatisfaction with the handling of the situation by the Senate, Ibrahim added, “If the Senate would not do that within the next seven days, I will write a letter to the Inspector General of Police to investigate the circumstances leading to the approval of two 2024 Appropriation Acts and bring the culprits to book.”
