Desmond Elliot returns to Nollywood after APC primary defeat

Veteran Nollywood actor and politician, Desmond Elliot, has returned to acting following his defeat in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
The lawmaker representing Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly was seen in a viral video on a movie set alongside fellow actor Ibrahim Chatta.
In the video, Chatta hinted at a possible collaboration, revealing that an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-themed production was underway.
“You don’t know what Honourable is planning. We are giving you AI production,” Chatta said.
Elliot recently lost the APC ticket for Surulere Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general elections to Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, ending his bid for a fourth consecutive term in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
His return to the movie industry has generated excitement among fans, many of whom welcomed the development and expressed delight at seeing him back on screen after years of active politics.
