Dignitaries storm Ilesa as coronation of 41st Owa Obokun begins

The ancient town of Ilesa witnessed a historic convergence of royalty, culture, and political power today as prominent dignitaries arrived for the coronation ceremony of the 41st Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III.
The venue for the coronation ceremony, Owa Obokun Palace Square, was filled to the brim.

Among the early arrivals were former President Olusegun Obasanjo; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; former Osun Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke; business mogul and philanthropist, Dr. Deji Adeleke; and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, who represented President Bola Tinubu.

Monarchs already in attendance include the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi; Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye; Orangun of Ila, Oba Abdulwahab Oyedotun; and a representative of the Alaafin of Oyo.
The atmosphere was electric, with jubilation evident on the faces of indigenes and guests alike.
