2027: Enugu Senator Ngwu backs Tinubu, says Southeast not marginalised

Senator Osita Ngwu of Enugu West has dismissed claims that the Southeast is being marginalised under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, insisting that the region is benefiting from key federal infrastructure projects.

Ngwu made the remarks on Monday while speaking to journalists in Enugu State as part of the Renewed Hope Ambassador tour led by the presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

He cautioned against suggesting that the Southeast had been neglected, citing ongoing and completed federal projects across the region.

“We cannot be marginalised. How can we be marginalised when we have Enugu-Port Harcourt done? How can we be marginalised when we have Enugu-Onitsha done?” the senator said.

Ngwu listed several projects including the Eke Obinagu Flyover linking Enugu and Ebonyi states, sections of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, and the Abakpa Junction Bridge project.

He urged Nigerians to support the Tinubu administration to sustain ongoing infrastructure development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The only thing we have to do is continue to support the government so that the projects will be sustained,” he said.

Ngwu also praised the collaboration between the federal and Enugu State governments, saying it had helped expedite project delivery in the region.

“The governor is performing wonderfully well, the budget from the federal government is coming in perfectly well and that is the reason for democracy. The dividends are coming,” he added, urging Nigerians to be patient with the administration.
