Filmmaker Iyabo Ojo addresses rift between actresses Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham

By Folashade Olorunfemi –
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has spoken out about the ongoing feud between fellow actresses Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham, saying she will no longer intervene in their differences.
The dispute resurfaced during the premiere of Iyabo’s movie, The Return of Arinzo, when a viral video showed Toyin greeting Iyabo and Mercy Aigbe warmly, only to be ignored by Funke, sparking reactions from fans.
Following the incident, Iyabo faced criticism from supporters of both actresses, who accused her of failing to mediate and allegedly sidelining Toyin in her movie project.
Amid the controversy, Toyin reportedly unfollowed Funke and vowed never to greet her again in a post that was later deleted, while her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi, commended her for keeping silent instead of addressing the matter publicly.
In a post on Instagram, Iyabo explained that she had maintained a long-standing friendship with Funke despite past disagreements and had previously tried to reconcile the two actresses.
She said their reconciliation included an agreement to avoid public disputes and resolve issues privately, but it broke down following fresh controversies in December over cinema releases.
Iyabo stressed that she would no longer attempt to mediate, expressing hope that both actresses would repair their relationship when ready.
“For those of you maligning my character and insulting me, this is the first and last time I will speak on this. I tried my best to settle both of them, even begging them to embrace peace, but at this point, I do not want to be involved anymore. I believe they will make peace when they are ready, and I love them both regardless,” she wrote.
