First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, has called for greater unity among Nigerians, saying national prosperity can only be achieved when citizens live and work together in harmony.
In a statement on Thursday by her spokesperson Busola Kokoyi, she made the appeal during a homecoming visit to Warri Kingdom in Delta State, where she was received by the Paramount Ruler of the kingdom, Ogiame Atuwatse III.

Addressing a large crowd at the event, the First Lady urged residents to put aside their differences and embrace unity. Quoting Psalm 133:1–3, she said it is pleasant for people to dwell together in unity, noting that it is in such an atmosphere that blessings are commanded.
Mrs. Tinubu also assured the people of the Federal Government’s continued support and commitment to development efforts in the state. She commended the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for what she described as the good work being done in the state.

As part of her visit, the First Lady, on behalf of the Renewed Hope Initiative, donated ₦50 million to support 1,000 women petty traders in the kingdom.
Governor Oborevwori, in his remarks, expressed appreciation for the First Lady’s consistent visits to the state, noting that she had shown “tremendous love and sincerity” toward Nigerians. He referenced her previous engagements in the state, including the flag-off of the women petty traders empowerment programme and the launch of the Free to Shine campaign, describing her as large-hearted and committed to putting smiles on the faces of citizens.
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, urged the people to let go of past grievances in order to foster peace, progress and prosperity in the kingdom. He said the entire Warri Kingdom was proud of the First Lady and praised her as a positive example to women and girls.
During the ceremony, Mrs. Tinubu, whose mother hails from Warri, was conferred with the traditional title of Utukpa-Oritse of Warri Kingdom, also known as Ugbone, meaning “the Light of God.”
