KWSIEC presents certificates of return to newly elected council chairmen

The Chairman of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC), Muhammad Baba-Okanla, officially presented certificates of return to the newly elected chairmen and their deputies across the 16 local government areas of the state. The event took place on Sunday at the commission’s office in Ilorin.

While presenting the certificates, Baba-Okanla detailed the comprehensive steps and modalities employed by the electoral body from the commencement of the election process to its conclusion.

He emphasized that the elections were conducted peacefully and in an orderly manner, with no major disruptions reported across the state.

“The peaceful conduct of the elections and the eventual declaration of winners reflect the determination of the people of Kwara to elect leaders of their choice,” Baba-Okanla remarked.

The newly elected council chairmen and their deputies expressed their gratitude, pledging to uphold the trust placed in them by their constituents and to work diligently to bring development to their respective local governments.
