Laniyan appointed chairman of Oyo Baseball and Softball Association Board

Nigerian sports administrator Kehinde Laniyan has been appointed Chairman of the Oyo State Baseball and Softball Association Board.

The appointment was conveyed in an official letter signed by the General Manager of the Oyo State Sports Council, Mrs. Olubisi Jejelola Adegoke.

The appointment comes shortly after Laniyan was named a member of the WBSC Africa Baseball Commission, further highlighting his growing recognition within the baseball and softball community in Nigeria and across Africa.

According to the council, the appointment is in recognition of Laniyan’s dedication, leadership and contributions to the development of baseball and softball in Nigeria.

The council noted his role in grassroots sports development in Oyo State through the organisation of national training camps, championships, coaching clinics and sustained efforts to expand baseball and softball programmes in schools.

Adegoke expressed confidence that Laniyan’s extensive national and international network, as well as his wealth of experience, would further strengthen the growth and development of baseball and softball in Oyo State.

Laniyan’s appointment is for a four-year term, during which he is expected to provide strategic leadership for the advancement of the sport in the state.
