No anointed APC candidate yet for 2027 Lagos guber race- Jandor camp

The camp of 2027 Lagos governorship aspirant, Olajide Adediran, has dismissed speculations suggesting that a preferred candidate has already been endorsed within the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the race.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesman, Gbenga Ogunleye, the group reaffirmed that no aspirant has been anointed by the party leadership in Lagos.

The statement aligned with the position earlier communicated by the Lagos APC Chairman, emphasizing that all aspirants would be given a level playing field through a credible primary election process.

Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, was said to be fully committed to the democratic process and is actively engaging party stakeholders while consolidating his grassroots support base in preparation for the primaries.

However, the statement also stressed his respect for party hierarchy and discipline, noting that he would abide by any eventual decision of the leadership, including the adoption of a consensus candidate if deemed necessary.

“His position reflects both a readiness to contest and a willingness to submit to the collective will of the party,” the statement said.

The camp further cautioned party members against mistaking individual or group campaigns as the official stance of the party or its leadership, insisting that only a formal declaration by the party and its recognized leaders should be regarded as authoritative.

It added that once the party leadership makes its position known, members are expected to align accordingly.
