The paramount ruler of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has described Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde as a selfless, altruistic leader whose commitment to serve is beyond selfish interest.
Oba Akanbi, in a statement made available to WesternPost in Osogbo, said the Governor has further demonstrated this attribute through his dedication to the construction of Olodo bridge and reconstruction of Iwo-Ibadan road.
His words: “Seyi Makinde, as a second term governor may not need the votes of anyone but demonstrated selfless and altruistic leadership by ensuring the Olodo bridge is delivered.
“Now, I feel relieved everytime I passed through the bridge. Pedestrians are also happy they no longer take bike before they could cross to the other side. A week to this time, the drivers will equally laugh as the contractor and the State Government have agreed to open the bridge for vehicular movement.
“The contractor, Peculiar Ultimate Concern Limited (PUCL) has done a great quality job. The existing cooperation between the contractor and the State Government has been to the advantage of the road users. After completing the bridge, the contractor commenced reconstruction of the road. In two weeks time, Iwo to Ibadan will be taking less than 50-minute drive,” the monarch stated.
