Osun decides: Basiru expresses confidence in APC victory

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, on Saturday cast his vote in the ongoing Osun State governorship election, expressing confidence in the electoral process and his party’s chances.

Basiru voted alongside his wife, Mrs Abibat Basiru, at Ward 7, Unit 3, in Osogbo Local Government Area at about 8:45 a.m., shortly after voting commenced.

After voting, the APC national secretary commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he described as the timely arrival of election materials and personnel at polling centres across the state.

He also praised the electorate for the level of participation recorded at the polling units, saying the turnout reflected voters’ commitment to the democratic process.

Basiru said the security arrangements at the polling centres had also helped to maintain a peaceful and orderly voting environment.

According to him, the process at his polling unit was calm and hitch-free, expressing hope that the exercise would ultimately meet the standards of a free, fair and credible election.

The APC chieftain said he remained optimistic about his party’s performance, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious when the results of the election are announced.
