The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of a substantial number of operatives for the coronation of Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the new Owa Obokun of Ijesaland.

The coronation is scheduled to hold on Friday, May 23, at Obokungbusi Hall, Ilesa, with a reception following at the Ilesa Grammar School premises. The event is expected to attract dignitaries from across the country and beyond.

In a statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, the NSCDC called for the cooperation of attendees to ensure a smooth and incident-free event.

“The command, under the leadership of Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo, is working closely with other sister agencies to provide comprehensive security coverage for the coronation of the Owa Obokun Adimula, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup,” the statement read.

The corps said it has deployed enough personnel to manage crowd control, prevent disruptions, and ensure the safety of all participants.

“NSCDC patrol teams are already on the ground, maintaining a visible presence to deter potential security threats,” it added.

The spokesperson also warned individuals with criminal intentions to stay away from the event or face the full weight of the law.
