Oyebanji’s reelection affirms good governance in Ekiti, says Uba Sani

Governor of Kaduna State and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State governorship election, Senator Uba Sani, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his victory in the 2026 governorship election, describing it as a clear endorsement of his administration by the people of the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Sani said Oyebanji’s victory, having secured 319,224 votes in the election, reflected public confidence in his leadership, governance style and commitment to the development of Ekiti State.

He also commended the people of the state for what he described as a wise and forward-looking decision, noting that the outcome demonstrated their faith in progressive governance and continuity.

Sani further attributed the success of subnational governments in delivering development projects to the support and enabling environment created by President Bola Tinubu through reforms and strategic interventions designed to strengthen states and improve governance.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, election observers, the media and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a peaceful, credible and transparent electoral process.

The Kaduna governor also called on opposition parties and candidates who participated in the election to accept the outcome and work with the governor-elect in the interest of the state.

“As chairman of the APC National Campaign Council, I am deeply delighted to have successfully delivered on the important assignment entrusted to me and the distinguished, committed and hardworking members of the council by our great party, the APC,” he said.

Sani also expressed appreciation to members of the campaign council, governors, National Assembly members and other party stakeholders whose efforts, he said, contributed to the party’s victory in the election.
