Revenue House reflects commitment to transparency, efficient service delivery, AbdulRazaq says

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Tuesday defended his administration’s investment in the multistory Revenue House in Ilorin, describing the project as a strategic step to provide a permanent office for the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service and strengthen the state’s internally generated revenue.
Speaking with journalists after inspecting the facility, which is now the tallest building in the state, AbdulRazaq said the Revenue House reflects the importance of the revenue agency to the state’s growth and long-term financial sustainability.
He said the building would provide KWIRS staff with a conducive work environment after years of operating from different locations, adding that the project also demonstrates the government’s commitment to transparency, accountability and efficient public service by giving residents greater confidence in how public revenue is managed.
The governor also praised the management and staff of KWIRS, led by Executive Chairman Folashade Omoniyi, for significantly improving revenue generation, noting that the state’s internally generated revenue has more than doubled since his administration took office in 2019.
Furthermore, AbdulRazaq announced that the Revenue House has reached completion and will be commissioned soon, expressing confidence that the new facility will further improve the agency’s efficiency and service delivery.
Commenting on the All Progressives Congress’ preparations for the 2027 general elections, the governor said the party remains united and fully mobilized while awaiting the Independent National Electoral Commission to officially open the campaign season.
He said the presence of the party’s governorship, National Assembly and state assembly candidates during the inspection reflected the APC’s unity and readiness for the elections, adding that the party has continued to engage supporters across the state under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
Earlier, Omoniyi conducted the governor and his entourage on an inspection tour of the soon-to-be-commissioned facility after briefing them on the project, while the visit was attended by Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and APC governorship candidate, Yakubu Salihu Danladi, alongside the party’s National and State Assembly candidates.
