Sanku dies just before 26th birthday

Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker, Raji Adetola, popularly known as Sanku, has died following a fatal car accident along Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State.
He passed away at the age of 25, just weeks before his 26th birthday in January 2026.
The crash, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 1, 2025, left several passengers injured.
Sanku and another victim were said to have been critically wounded, but the comedian was later confirmed dead at the hospital.
Skit maker Ozain Comedy confirmed the tragedy on his Instagram story with the post, “Rest well, soldier,” shortly after influencer Jidex also took to TikTok to mourn him with the caption, “Rest in peace.”
Sanku, who began his comedy career in 2021, shot to prominence in 2024. His originality and unique style quickly earned him a loyal following, with over one million fans on TikTok.
On Tuesday, September 2, family and friends wept uncontrollably as Sanku was laid to rest in his hometown, Osogbo.
