State House perm sec urges excellence, honours outstanding staff

The Permanent Secretary, State House, Temitope Fashedemi, has called on staff to maintain a culture of excellence and professionalism in service delivery as part of efforts to strengthen public service performance.

Fashedemi made the call on Wednesday in Abuja during the 2025 State House Ministerial Rewards and Recognition Ceremony, organised to honour staff for outstanding contributions to the service.

Represented by the Director of Internal Audit, Dr Adenike Akintola, the Permanent Secretary commended the dedication and commitment of workers, noting that the ceremony was aimed at celebrating hard work, excellence and significant achievements within the State House.

He emphasised that excellence in public service is a responsibility rather than just an aspiration, stressing that every action and decision taken by civil servants has direct consequences for governance outcomes.

Fashedemi congratulated the award recipients, describing them as role models whose performance should inspire others to greater dedication and improved service delivery. He also urged them to remain committed to their duties and continue to strive for higher achievements.

He further commended the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the State House management and members of the award committee for successfully organising the event.

According to him, the ceremony, originally scheduled for 2025, was postponed due to unforeseen official engagements.

Seven awardees selected from 15 departments received plaques, commendation letters and cash prizes in recognition of their exceptional performance.
