2027: Abiodun declares Ogun APC ready for election

Governor Dapo Abiodun on Thursday declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State ready for the 2027 elections as thousands of supporters and Caucus 7202 members gathered at Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, for a rally backing the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

The rally drew supporters from the state’s 20 local government areas. Abiodun said the turnout showed the APC’s strength, unity and grassroots readiness, adding that his administration’s achievements had positioned the party to retain power.

He praised the peaceful conduct of the party’s activities and expressed confidence in Adeola’s leadership, urging members to intensify mobilisation across the state. He also reaffirmed Ogun’s commitment to delivering two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Adeola described Abiodun as a “silent achiever” and pledged to build on his administration’s achievements. He denied any alliance with opposition parties and urged APC members to reject such overtures.

The Ogun APC governorship candidate said the party had the structure and support needed to win, commending Caucus 7202 and other support groups. He noted that over 90 per cent of the group’s members were non-partisan and urged them to expand their mobilisation.

Meanwhile, the Caucus 7202 Director-General, Moctar Koiki, said the group had about 180,000 members across the state.

Koiki said the group would mobilise support for Tinubu, Abiodun’s senatorial ambition and Adeola’s governorship bid across the 20 local government areas.
