The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a suspected motorcycle thief and recovered two stolen motorcycles during an operation carried out by operatives of the Ore Division.

In a statement issued by the command on Monday evening, it was noted that the arrest was made on December 11, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts by the command to curb crime and dismantle criminal networks across the state.

The statement added that the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Okemini, was intercepted alongside two accomplices, who fled the scene and abandoned the motorcycles.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects allegedly specialised in snatching motorcycles in different parts of Ondo State, with the recovered bikes now registered as exhibits.

The police added that the arrested suspect, who is currently in custody, has made useful statements that are aiding efforts to track down the fleeing members of the syndicate.

Commending the operatives, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Adebowale Lawal, reaffirmed the command’s reliance on intelligence-driven stop-and-search operations to disrupt criminal activities.

The police assured residents of heightened security before, during, and after the yuletide season, urging members of the public to cooperate with officers and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
