The Allied Peoples Movement has kicked off its 2027 election campaign in Ondo State, unveiling candidates who will fly the party’s flag in various constituencies.

The campaign rally held on Thursday in Idanre Local Government Area, starting from Itaolorun and passing through parts of the town before supporters converged at the Depot Roundabout.

Among those unveiled were Sunday Falae, the party’s candidate for Ondo Central Senatorial District; Olujide Olurankinse, who will contest the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency seat; and Oluwatosin Eniola, the candidate for Idanre State Constituency.

A former Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Dr Omotayo Dairo, who addressed the gathering, thanked party members and Idanre residents for their support and urged them to remain steadfast ahead of the election.

Dairo said the APM was prepared for the 2027 contest, charging members to intensify their commitment and work towards achieving the party’s political objectives.

Similarly, a PDP chieftain, Dupe Aisida, also praised Idanre residents for what he described as their strong organisational capacity and commitment, saying the area remained an important part of the party’s political structure.

The rally drew a large crowd of supporters, including women in matching Ankara outfits, youths and other groups who carried APM flags and banners displaying the candidates’ photographs.

Before the rally, the party delegation paid visits to the palaces of the Aladeokun of Alade Idanre, Oba Ayodele Adesoga Akinnadeju, and the Awosuye of Atosin Idanre, Oba Gilbert Ogunlowo, as well as the palace of the Owa of Idanre Land, where traditional leaders received the delegation and offered royal blessings.
