APC youth stakeholders pass vote of confidence on Dayo Israel

The APC National Young Stakeholders Forum has passed a vote of confidence on the party’s National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, amid controversy surrounding the distribution of campaign mobilisation vehicles to youth leaders across the states.

The forum declared its support for Israel at a press conference held at the Progressive Institute in Garki, Abuja, on Thursday, describing attempts to undermine his office as a threat to the party’s recognised structures.

The controversy followed reports that Israel facilitated the distribution of special utility vehicles to selected youth leaders for campaign mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. The development reportedly generated disagreements among some party members, with some calling for his resignation.

However, the forum defended the initiative, describing it as part of efforts to improve the welfare of youth leaders and strengthen grassroots mobilisation for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

In a statement signed by its representative, Hon. Shehu Attah, the forum said the provision of vehicles had boosted morale among youth leaders and demonstrated an improved reward system within the party’s youth wing.

“We also commend Hon. Isreal for efforts to boost the morale of the youth leadership through the recent facilitation of campaign mobilization vehicles to selected youth leaders and the earlier distribution of buses to others,” the statement said.

It added that the initiative had sent a strong signal that the era of youth members working for the party without adequate recognition was coming to an end.

The forum maintained that the development would encourage young party members to intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the next general elections.

Passing a vote of confidence on Israel, the group said his leadership had contributed to youth development and engagement within the APC.
