Sowore, Okinbaloye clash during heated Channels TV interview

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised Channels Television journalist Seun Okinbaloye following a heated exchange during an interview on the station’s Politics Today programme.
Sowore expressed his displeasure in a Facebook post on Friday, accompanying his comments with a video of the interview, which featured tense exchanges between him and the presenter.
The activist said he had to call out Okinbaloye for what he described as insensitivity after the journalist asked whether he posed a threat to the government.
The interview followed an alleged attack on Sowore and members of his team in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, an incident the activist has blamed on individuals he claims are linked to the government.
During the interview, tensions also rose when Okinbaloye asked whether Sowore had provoked the people who allegedly attacked him. The question angered the activist, who described it as victim-blaming.
However, the presenter attempted to clarify that he was seeking to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack and understand what led to the incident.
Sowore, on his part, maintained that the question was condescending and inappropriate, insisting that the focus should be on the alleged attack rather than suggesting that he might have provoked it.
The exchange has since generated reactions on social media, with viewers expressing differing opinions over Okinbaloye’s line of questioning and Sowore’s response during the interview.
