Hamzat will sustain Lagos’ development trajectory – Obasa assures residents

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has expressed confidence in the ability of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, to fulfil the commitments outlined in his manifesto.

Obasa spoke on the sidelines of the formal presentation of the manifesto, held on Friday, October 30, at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts (formerly the National Arts Theatre), Iganmu, Lagos.

Tagged Lagos P.R.O.M.I.S.E (People First, Renewal, Opportunity, Machinery of Government, Inclusion, Security and Resilience, and Everyday Dignity), the manifesto prioritises continuity and accountability while outlining Hamzat’s agenda across critical sectors, including transportation, environmental resilience, housing, security, healthcare, education and economic opportunities.

It also emphasises measurable outcomes, people-centred governance and the consolidation of existing infrastructure projects, including the state’s rail lines.

Describing the manifesto as a thoughtful and practical blueprint that demonstrates a clear understanding of Lagos State’s opportunities and challenges, Obasa commended the intellectual rigour and vision behind its formulation.

He identified Hamzat’s educational background, wealth of experience in both the private and public sectors, and broad exposure as key attributes that position him to deliver on the promises contained in the document.

According to the Speaker, these qualities have equipped Hamzat with the capacity to provide effective leadership and build on the developmental foundations already laid in the state.

“For someone with his rare accretion of insight, experience, education, and exposure, I do not doubt that Dr Hamzat will sustain and build upon the developmental trajectory of Lagos State. He has the competence, character, and most importantly, the determination to rewrite the Lagos State socio-economic narrative,” Obasa said.

The Speaker added that Lagosians should expect a new experience in governance, noting that the manifesto contains clearly defined timelines against which Hamzat’s performance could be measured and his administration held accountable if elected.
