Funke Akindele celebrates sold-out London premiere of ‘The Four’

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, is celebrating the sold-out London premiere of her latest film, The Four, at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square ahead of its nationwide cinema release on December 11, 2026.
The film’s distributor, FilmOne Entertainment, announced the development in a post on X on Thursday, confirming that tickets for the premiere scheduled for November 29 were no longer available.
The distributor thanked audiences for their support, saying, “We are officially sold out! You made this happen! The premiere of The Four at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square is officially sold out, and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
Akindele had earlier announced the UK premiere on her official Instagram page, describing the event as a significant milestone for Nigerian cinema.
She wrote, “LONDON, WE’RE COMING! History is about to be made. Funke Akindele Network and FilmOne Entertainment are proud to announce the UK premiere of THE FOUR at the iconic ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, London, on 29 November”.
The actress also celebrated the milestone through a post on her Instagram page on Friday, with a flier of the movie, indicating that the movie tickets for the 791 capacity auditorium, which was regarded as the largest auditorium in the United Kingdom, had been sold out. She captioned the post “RECORD BREAKER!!!”
Known for her December releases, which have produced some of Nollywood’s highest-grossing films, Akindele has also announced a collaboration with Facebook to expand her audience’s global reach.
The filmmaker has adopted several promotional strategies for the movie, including the release of its official anthem, a music track featuring two cast members and outdoor media campaigns.
