Aregbesola loyalists deny leaving APC, dismiss rumors as false
The Omoluabi Progressives, a faction within the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, has denied reports that they have left the party.
In a press statement signed by Abosede Oluwaseun, the group’s Publicity and Organizing Secretary, the Omoluabi Progressives refuted claims made by Kamorudeen Adabanija that “Aregbesola and his loyalists have dumped APC.”
The group clarified that the reports of their defection are completely false, affirming their continued commitment to the APC.
They emphasized that Kamorudeen Adabanija is not an authorized spokesperson for the Omoluabi Progressives, and therefore, his statements do not represent their views or intentions.
Furthermore, the statement explained that neither Aregbesola nor his loyalists have any intention of leaving the APC. Instead, the Omoluabi Progressives suggested that another faction within the party is attempting to force them out through various actions.
They reiterated their commitment to the APC, urging the public to disregard what they termed as “mischief makers” spreading false information about their stance.
The group also highlighted that any official decisions or positions would be communicated through their official channels, not through unauthorized individuals.
They reaffirmed their dedication to the values of competence, courage, character, integrity, and discipline, which they see as fundamental to their “Omoluabi ethos.”
