Davido endorses Olajengbesi for Reps ahead of 2027 election

Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has thrown his weight behind the 2027 political ambition of human rights lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi.
Davido disclosed his support for Olajengbesi in an Instagram post, where he described the lawyer as his “other project” and declared him a “100% winning ticket”.
Olajengbesi is seeking election to the House of Representatives to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The lawyer served as the campaign spokesman for the re-election of Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, during the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Davido had also acknowledged Olajengbesi’s contribution to the campaign in a post on X following his uncle’s re-election.
Olajengbesi, convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Osun State, previously contested the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat in 2019.
The 40-year-old legal practitioner is an Accord Party chieftain seeking to unseat the incumbent lawmaker, Wole Oke of the All Progressives Congress, who has represented the constituency in the House for 24 years.
Olajengbesi has argued that the constituency needs vibrant youth representation and a departure from what he described as the recycling of old ideas, promising effective representation and programmes to promote development if elected.
