Family holds eight-day prayer for late Yoruba actress Aunty Ajara

The family of the late Yoruba actress, Ajara Lasisi, fondly known as Aunty Ajara, has held an eight-day Fidau prayer following her burial.

The Fidau prayer, which took place in Abule Egba, Lagos State, was organised to offer supplications for her soul, following the news of her death that broke online on Thursday, February 5, 2026.

The actress, whose death was announced by her brother, Ridwan Lazeez, passed away after a brief illness related to liver failure, which was further complicated by her pregnancy.

The 27-year-old actress was buried shortly after her death in accordance with Islamic burial rites.

Ajara was well known for her comedic roles in Yoruba movie productions.
