FG secures $1.3bn to complete Kano-Kastina-Jibiya-Maradi rail project

The Minister of Transportation, Said Alkali, said the Federal Government has achieved a significant accomplishment by securing $1.3 billion for the progress of the Kano-Katsina-Jibiya-Maradi Railway Project.
This was contained in a statement issued by the minister’s Special Assistant for Public Affairs, Jamilu Ja’afaru, on Tuesday in Abuja.
The development, according to the minister shows progress in building an important infrastructure that will boost the connection between Nigeria and Niger Republic, helping their economies and societies grow even closer.
“The securing of $1.3billion for the Kano-Katsina-Jibiya-Maradi Railway Project is a significant accomplishment.
“The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, and a senior director with the African Development Bank, Muhammad Abdulrazak, have both endorsed the project as a catalyst for positive change, fostering economic growth and regional cooperation”, the statement said.
