Ibadan businessman Jubril Sanusi rebuts allegations of sponsoring protests

Ibadan businessman and philanthropist, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has denied claims that he is sponsoring recent protests in the city, describing the allegations as unfounded and politically motivated.
In a statement released by his media team on Thursday, the group called the rumours “fabrications being circulated by political jobbers” and rejected suggestions linking Sanusi to the organisation of protesters.
The statement noted that Sanusi is “rarely in town and heavily occupied with his business and philanthropic activities,” making any involvement in the demonstrations impossible. “The claims simply do not make any sense,” it added.
Sanusi’s team stressed that he has no political affiliations and should not be drawn into partisan disputes, urging those making the accusations to “direct their insinuations elsewhere.”
“They are baseless and intended only to create distractions,” the statement said, emphasising that Sanusi remains committed to the development of Ibadan through job creation, philanthropy, and community empowerment.
The media team further highlighted that all of Sanusi’s efforts focus on improving residents’ welfare, with no connection to political agitation or protests.
The public was urged to ignore the claims, which the statement described as attempts to misrepresent Sanusi’s intentions and community work.
