Isaac Fayose suggests Peter Obi visit triggered brother’s appointment

Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu appointed his brother shortly after Peter Obi visited him.

Speaking in a video shared on his Facebook page, Isaac questioned the timing of the appointment, suggesting it was influenced by Obi’s recent visit.

President Tinubu had on Monday appointed Ayodele Fayose as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

Reacting to the development, Isaac said the appointment came only days after the visit by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

“Just days after Mr Peter Obi visited me, they appointed my brother. Why didn’t they give him the appointment all these while?” he said.

He also questioned why the former governor was not appointed as a minister or ambassador, noting that former presidential aide Reno Omokri, who had never served as a governor, was appointed an ambassador.

Isaac further claimed that his brother had previously told him he would not seek or accept appointments such as senator, minister or director-general after leaving office as governor.

He added that although he believed Ayodele Fayose might decline the appointment, the final decision remained his brother’s to make.
