President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Abuja following his official visit to Rome, Italy, where he attended the inauguration of the Jubilee Year by His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, on Sunday at the Vatican.
The President was received on Tuesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, among other senior officials.
Western Post reported how President Tinubu shook hands with the newly installed Bishop of Rome and the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
Speaking shortly after the papal installation ceremony, President Tinubu described the grand inauguration of Pope Leo XIV at St. Peter’s Square, as a profound symbol of unity in diversity, reaffirming Nigeria’s commitment to interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
President Tinubu said: “It is consistent with the true sense of unity and diversity. I am greatly honoured. And we will have to continue to work on it. It is a work in progress—for the sake of our country and the continent as a whole.”
