JUST IN: Tinubu seeks Nigeria-France partnership to eradicate hunger, improve education
By Kunle Sanni
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called for stronger collaboration between Nigeria and France to combat hunger and drive agricultural development.
Speaking at the Palais de l’Élysée in Paris on Thursday during a question-and-answer session as part of his state visit, Tinubu underscored the urgency of global efforts to eradicate hunger and improve education.
“No child should go to bed hungry in the 21st century,” Tinubu declared, highlighting the importance of joint initiatives to tackle food insecurity and ensure access to quality education.
The President linked education to national security and economic prosperity, emphasizing that a well-educated population fosters stability and reduces migration challenges.
Advocating for improved child nutrition, Tinubu called for investments in dairy production, stating, “If a child were provided with a pint of milk or even one egg a day, it could significantly enhance their development.”
Tinubu’s visit to France is focused on strengthening bilateral ties and fostering partnerships to address critical socio-economic issues such as hunger and education.
