Stakeholders from Kwara North Senatorial District have called for the zoning of the 2027 governorship ticket to their region in the interest of equity, fairness, and unity.

The demand was unanimously made during a mega rally held in Ilorin in support of the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the emergence of a Kwara North governor in 2027.

In his welcome address, the convener and former Minister of Transport, Bio Ibrahim, described the gathering as a historic moment showcasing unity and determination among the people of the zone.

He noted that Kwara North has remained loyal and supportive of successive governments, stressing that it is only fair for the region to produce the next governor of the state.

Furthermore, he reiterated the zone’s strong backing for President Tinubu’s second term while expressing confidence in their collective aspiration for political inclusion.

In his keynote address, Ahmed Saba said the zone remains a vital force in Kwara politics, adding that all aspirants are united in their quest for the governorship.

Meanwhile, the Emir of Lafiagi, Mohamed Kawu Kudu, revealed that traditional rulers have begun consultations across the state to seek broader support, including visits to Kwara South and the Emir of Ilorin.

The rally was attended by key stakeholders, including governorship aspirants such as Sadiq Umar, Salihu Yakubu Danladi, Tajudeen Audu, and Mohammed Omar Bio, as well as several traditional rulers from the region.
