President Bola Tinubu has postponed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting originally scheduled for today, as a mark of respect for Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, who passed away on Tuesday night.

General Lagbaja, who served as Chief of Army Staff from June 19, 2023, until his death on November 5, 2024, was honored by this decision.

In addition to rescheduling the FEC meeting, President Tinubu has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff nationwide for seven days to commemorate the late general.

Earlier, President Tinubu expressed his deepest condolences to the Lagbaja family and the Nigerian Armed Forces, paying tribute to Lt. General Lagbaja’s dedicated service and significant contributions to the nation.

He wished the late General eternal peace and highlighted his enduring impact on the country.
