Lagos Assembly confirms 12 Sanwo-Olu nominees for 3 agencies
The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed 12 nominees forwarded by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for appointment into two government commissions and an agency in the state.
The confirmation followed the presentation of the report of the 12-member Screening Committee by its Chairman, Hon. Fatai Mojeed.
Presenting the report, Mojeed said the committee carefully assessed the nominees based on their credentials, appearance, performance and comportment.
He noted that the committee’s recommendations were subject to the consideration and approval of the entire House.
Following the presentation, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, subjected the recommendations to a voice vote, after which the lawmakers unanimously adopted the report and confirmed the nominees.
The confirmed nominees include Mr. Murusiq Durosimi and Mr. Ahmed Seriki as members of the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC).
For the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) Board, the House confirmed former Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Yetunde Longe, Hon. Goriola Oyenusi, Mr. Bode Makinde, Mr. Adekunle Adelaja and Mr. Opeyemi Adetunji as members.
The House also confirmed Mrs. Kikelomo Dawodu, Mrs. Bukola Ogunowo, Mrs. Omotayo Gbajabiamila-Olamona, Mr. Bowale Shosimi and Mr. Sunday Kappo as members of the Lagos State Audit Service Commission (LASC).
