Shettima to inaugurate Kwara projects as AbdulRazaq is turbaned

The Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima, will on Wednesday inaugurate two major projects in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as part of activities marking the turbaning of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as the Sardauna of the Ilorin Emirate.

The projects are the Kwara Garment Factory, a signature project of the AbdulRazaq administration expected to employ at least 4,000 people at full capacity, and the 11-story Kwara Revenue Service building.

The revenue service building was funded with savings from consultancy fees that would otherwise have been paid, while the garment factory is among the administration’s major projects in the state.

The two projects are part of more than 30 capital projects executed across Kwara State, according to the state government.

Following the inaugurations, the turbaning ceremony will take place at the forecourt of the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin, while a reception will be held at the Atlantic.

The ceremony will be televised live by local and national television stations.

Several dignitaries, including state governors, ministers, heads of federal and state parastatals, military and police chiefs, Ilorin title holders and political leaders, are expected to attend the event.
