Lagos LG Chairman Balogun empowers traditional rulers, council officials with cars

The Chairman of Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Idris Balogun, has empowered three traditional rulers and 15 council officials with official vehicles to enhance service delivery and grassroots governance.

Among the beneficiaries are the Elegbe of Egbe Kingdom, Ashimiu Dada Ota; the Aigbo of Agodo, Mudashiru Odejobi; the Onidimu of Idimu Kingdom, Surakat Olayiwola; the Vice Chairman of the council, Tayo Ayinde; and other key council officials.

Speaking during the presentation of the vehicles on Thursday, Balogun urged the beneficiaries to utilise the vehicles effectively in the discharge of their responsibilities, noting that the gesture was aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery at the grassroots level.

Explaining the inclusion of traditional rulers among the beneficiaries, the council chairman said it was important to support their welfare and strengthen the relationship between the local government and traditional institutions.

According to him, “This is an investment in public service delivery and grassroots governance. I urge the beneficiaries to make good use of these vehicles for the purpose of community development and effective service delivery.

“They should use them responsibly in the discharge of their duties and in promoting good governance.”

Balogun also assured residents of the council area of more dividends of democracy, highlighting several achievements recorded within the first year of his administration and pledging to sustain developmental projects across the LCDA.
