Lagos police intercept three suspected robbers in Idimu, recover weapon, others

The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another operational success with the arrest of three suspected robbers in Idimu.
The suspects were intercepted in the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at about 2:00 a.m. during a routine patrol.
Police operatives reportedly stopped the trio along Car Wash Bus Stop near First Bank after noticing suspicious movement on a motorcycle.
The suspects were identified as Abdullahi Mustapha, Salisu Sannusi, and Jamiu Sahidu.
As disclosed by police sources, a search conducted on them led to the recovery of a concealed machete and other incriminating items.
Officers also recovered an army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, a power bank, and some squeezed naira notes.
A Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AKD 40 OM, believed to have been used in their operations, was also seized.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had been robbing unsuspecting members of the public before fleeing the scene, while the police assured that investigations are ongoing, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
